Placing the ruddy thing on a keyboard stand

This is for the ones that have had the gaul to bring their Voyager keyboard addition out into public.

I’ve noticed that it has a weight distribution problem, in that the innards are all crammed into the hinged front panel. This makes the thing cumbersome for the second tier of an X-frame keyboard stand. Letting it float freely leaves it in danger of toppling backwards off the stand. Not a pretty picture, if it happens during a gig.

Have any of you had to build a custom stand to place your Voyager(s) on so that it wouldn’t fall over? If so, please explain. At first inclination, it seems like it’s only suited for tabletop use. What about adding weight to the front section? What do some of the elite players like Wakeman use?

I have mine on a 3 tiered stand that it angles downward so no issues with balance. My Source is on the middle tier which also angles downward. I have an Emu kybd on the bottom but will hopefully replace it with an OBX-a soon.

get an old a-frame rack. more space, but a lot more sturdy.
