Well, frankly i don’t know if this is normal, so i need your opinion to understand:
i have just sent a triangle lfo to control Pitch CV of phatty (i ve made this both with cp-251 and mp-201)..and i leave lfo going for about 1-2 minuts. Then i have unplugged the cable from Pitch CV input, and i noticed that little phatty was clearly out of tune. Question: why when using internal lfo to control the pitch of phatty it remains perfectly in tune and when using an external lfo to control pitch CV for a while it goes out of tune?
I expirienced the same thing. When I plugged the EP-1 pedal via attenuator of CP-251. Even with the pedal up and knob at 0 the phatty went out of tune. It caused problems with tuning even after unplugging from the Pitch CV input. The problems eventually made me recalibrate the phatty. Enyone else?
Check to see if this still occurs in manual tune mode. Total guess, but maybe it is trying to tune with the extra volatge added screwing up the actual frequency a key plays.
Yes, I discovered (painfully) that you cannot have the Phatty in Autotune mode when using the Pitch CV input.
It just whacks the tuning completely out. Set tuning to Off.
With tune mode set to manual it works…probably is a limit of auto-tune function where external pitch modulations have not been considered. Hope that will be an upgrade in the future!
