Pimp my Phatty !

Hi Amos et al

Any chance of a flat front panel illustration??

I fancy creating an overlay of the panel reversed White out of Black, I think it will reflect more the badassness of the Sub Phatty

All hail the Godz of Rock n Roll \m/ \m/

:smiling_imp:

Love it.

EDIT: sorry, I read Little Phatty…

I could see some really cool stuff being done with the front panel overlay concept, too. Imagine custom colors, fonts, etc. More importantly, it would allow users to highlight our favorite under-the-hood hidden parameters in creative ways.

A super-duper nice-to-have would be a simple online panel designer app that would let you create your own panel overlay (with limitations of course), then allow you to have a nice plastic overlay printed and sent to your house. You could change the look of your phatty in just few seconds. How cool would that be?

When I ordered a Little Phatty, it was through Sweetwater. It was, in fact, my very request for black side-panels rather than the grey ones on my Solar Edition that made Sweetwater switch over their entire Solar line to black side-panels. Of course, at the time, neither my sales engineer nor I knew that was going to be the case. He simply made the request to Moog and they said it can be done. Once he got back to me with the good news, saying Moog mentioned nothing about additional charge, I made some specific LED light requests. This is when Moog asked him if this was a one-off project or a change for the whole store line. When the sales engineer told him what the deal was, Moog informed him that they do not do one-off projects for the Little Phatty line. However, apparently everyone at Sweetwater liked the idea of having the black side-panels versus the gray ones that they made the change the Solar Edition globally - allowing me to get the very first serial to have ever adorn the black side-panels (that was Solar Edition).

In short, from what I know of Moog, they do not do one-off projects to the Little Phatty line of synthesizers. Any customized Little Phatty you have seen has likely been sent to someone who specializes in such cosmetic adjustments.

The only official one-off Little Phatty that Moog has done, that I know of, would be Bernie Worrell’s absolutely gorgeous purple LP:

They did the blue lights on mine. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend and if you’re willing to wait for the work to be done. It takes a while for Moog to modify an existing Phatty, but might be faster to build a custom one-off. The trick is, contacting Moog yourself regarding the modifications and not contacting your Sweetwater salesman to contact Moog.
