Someone kindly gave me a peavy rage 108 amp.One of the features is a pre-amp output.Could anyone tell me if it would be safe to run a cord from said output to LP audio in? Also, does anyone know what this output does?Cheers
Basically it bypasses the power amp and speaker. probably has a -10 dBv output, or maybe +4 dBu. Check the input specs for the phatty, including the impedance. If you don’t know about impedance and you plan to deal with a lot of audio in the future, read up about proper impedance interfacing. General rule: the output impedance of, for example, the preamp output, should be 1/10th or less of the input impedance of, for example, the phatty input.
thanks for the info.i’ll try and find those specs.
