patch mf-101 102 & 103

Hi

I just received the ring modulator to complete my MF set (mf 101, 102, 103).

Could you give me some tricks to patch them please :slight_smile: or a link to some demos? . I generally use them with synth ,bass, drummachine.

I don’t have a 101 BUT do have the 102 and 103 ------and I have an idea… hee hee.

Using the 102 and 103 - take the LFO CV Out on the 102 and patch it into the 103 Sweep In jack. Route your instrument signal through the 102, into the 103 and then into the 101 and out to the amp or mixer. Use an expression pedal with the 101 to do filter sweeps after you tweak the 103 and the 102 to your hearts content. Only… makes sure the 103 is set to 12 STAGE, the resonance is tweaked all the way up and the sweep is midway. Turn on the phaser, BYPASS the ring mod, turn on the 101 and (like I said) try filter sweeps with an expression pedal. But just because you have the 102 bypassed doesn’t mean you can’t tweak it to effect the phaser (103)… play with that LFO knob until you get something tasty, THAT’S why I told you to patch the 102 LFO CV Out to the Sweep In on the 103. These pedals are amazing because you can use them the affect other moogerfoogers, all the while completely bypassed.

Try that on for size. I like to use Theremin as a soundsource with that setup. I only suggested filter sweeps with the 101 because I know that sounds cool - even though I haven’t got one. For a sudden change, kick the 102 online and start messing with the ring modulator anyway you like. What is important to remember is that you are routing the signal through the phaser FIRST, THEN the ringmod..,… BUT you are affecting the phaser with the Ring Mod LFO knob the whole time.

If you are new to Moogerfoogers this may seem strange… but trust me, it’s a great way to start. It’s the first thing I did! :smiley:

ok i get pretty cool vybz with your combination. (carrier out in sweep in !!) One I like now is to connect carrier out of RM in Amount env of the LP and with that I have a "modulate " attak but very subtle and musical !! I love thos pedals !!!

Well, I only have the MF101 and MF102, not the MF103 for the moment, but I hope 2011 will my Moogerfooger’s year !

I just put a simple funny patch with the Filter and the Ring Modulator in a video, with comments on how to do it !
