Has anyone arranged the 3.0 patch banks into specific banks for basses, leads, sound effects, etc.? I know there are a couple bass banks on Squarewave. Has anyone done this and posted it anywhere? I could do it myself of course, but I am being lazy right now. Just thought I’d see if some kind soul had already done the work!
Perhaps someone has, but you can easily do this yourself (and customize it to your liking) with the V2.0 Editor. Here’s how:
Fill all Editor User Banks (A-F) using the built-in Moog Banks from the Bank menu. These banks have the presets already categorized. From there:
In the Mac version, you simply select the ‘Load from User Bank Data’ in the Librarian menu. A dialog box will then appear asking if you wish to sort the presets into the corresponding Library categories. Click OK and the presets will sort into the 32 available categories. Repeat this for each User Bank(A-F).
For the PC version, first sort the User Bank by category by clicking on the Category header. Then perform group moves by selecting all the presets in a given category and dragging them into the corresponding Library categories. Repeat this for each User Bank.
Once you have everything sorted out, save the Library (to preserve your work), then go about making any customizations. Finally, save your customized Library file.
FWIW, I created the Bass bank for the SquareWave site before Moog added the Categories feature and before the V2.0 Editor was available. It was very time consuming to sort through all 706 sounds. The new tools make this process MUCH easier!
