Has anyone tried recording pad sounds voice by voice to form chords using the LP?
I’m going through a Harmony book right now so I’ll try to post one of the exercises that way somewhere this week. I’ve never tried that and I’m curious of the sound, so I’ll share what I’ll get.
I’ll also try setting some glide on the voices, that should sound strange, I’ll post that also
I’ve never tried synthesizing patches for this quasi-polyphonic use so I don’t have much idea of where to start. I guess I should try more closed filter mellow aproach? Any suggestions on this?
Anyone who has a Moog and multitrack recording software/hw has probably played with it before.. I like the idea of using glide though.. I’ve tried that myself and it does indeed sound very cool. Get the timing/spacing right between semi/whole tones and it sounds so buttery smooth depending on your filter settings.
That whole experiment just strengthens my desire for a Polymoog.
I’ve tried this before, but always the sound was a little unpleasant, maybe to much harmonics in my patches, it sounded a little like a distorted guitar, even when a single voice patch was smooth, but I haven’t tried it in a while, I guess I’ll have to try it again.
