I thought it would be fun to hook up my Voyager to an oscilloscope but I don’t know anything about how to operate an oscilloscope. There are a lot them being auctioned on ebay. Can anyone reccommend a hardware model or software that would allow me to run an audio signal through it with standard 1/8" or 1/4" jacks.
I would think you should be able to plug it in directly to the scope, into the “Signal In” jack. Then tweak the knobs to adjust for amplitude and frequency.
It’s been ages since I last touched an oscilloscope – the last time was in EE Circuits Lab in the semester before I ‘defected’ to CS. The lab had some decent Tektronix scopes. To me, Tek is to electronic equipment as Moog is to synths – high-quality stuff. They used to make computer terminals too, but not any more.
An oscilloscope would be extremely useful to have. Its been years since I last used one. They’re so damn expensive though! If I had known I would have ended up getting involved with analogue synthesis, I would have nicked one from the school science lab!
Any small handheld ones you can recommend? I don’t want a huge thing.
