Hi, haven’t emailed Moog yet,
my osc 3 switch dosnt turn off osc3.
It says “off” on the screen, but I have to turn down the osc3 volume to mute it.
Anyone seen this fault before ?
There is something wrong with your switch. Moog Music will help you to get it fixed.
Thanx, any idea how long the warranty is and because I am the second owner (couldn’t get the receipt ) will I have to pay?
e-mail Moog, either Amos or Rosser. Both those guys have been very helpful to many of us on the forums. ![]()
Moog is very helpful with this kind of thing. The 3rd oscillator just failed on my new OS that I purchased 6 months ago. The unit hasn’t seen much use and been very well taken care of - I’ve been reading about oscillator failure on quite a few units. Luckily Moog stands behind their product and are quick to respond. Not the kind of thing you’d expect from top of the line synths though. Good luck!
So now not only does Osc 3 switch not work, but when I turn Osc 3 down I stil hear it slightly.
Has anyone had this issue and know how it was fixed? I’m wondering if I just replace the switch myself (can you buy spare parts easily? ).
Thanx.
The mechanical switch itself is most probably not defective. These switches are controlling analog switches chips and are scanned by multiplexer chips inside the Voyager (CD4066 and CD4051), both of which have been known to fail in Voyagers (bad batches ?).
Warranty is usually 1 year from date of purchase. But Moog Music has always been helpful, even outside the warranty.
I would send in to Moog for proper diagnostics. My OS also has an Volume Envelope failure that they have been quick to resolve.
