Osc 3 on RME...

I was messing about on ye olde Voyager and realized that on my RME, oscillator 3 sounds a bit duller than the other two. Maybe less dense is the way I could describe it.

Is it normal to have slight differences in the way oscillators sound on the Voyager? It doesn’t really sound like a tuning issue, and the unit is two months old.

While I have noticed stuff like this on vintage gear, this is the first modern analog synth I’ve owned…so still getting adjusted. Thanks

I do think that it is quite normal beacuse of the analog nature of that oscillators. :bulb:

Thanks for the reply. I figured this was just the nature of analog as well. It’s kind of odd, same pitch, but slightly weaker.

I’ll let you guys know if I notice any changes in it. The unit is still under warranty, so I’m going to try not to overanalyze it, for the time being.

When you make the comparison, are the waveform knobs in the same position? Do you have an oscilloscope?

Yup, knobs in same position and same readings on display too. I don’t own an oscilloscope and would really not have any idea how to check that sort of thing.

OSC3’s waveform is slightly different because of the low frequency component of the oscillator. This is normal for all Voyagers.

I had a feeling this was the case! Thanks!
