Old School questions

I received my brand new Old School last week and what a lovely instrument it is. May I ask a few questions. Please don’t flame me if they have been dealt with before.

A. Is there a Moog (or other) keyboard stand for its 78x46 footprint? I can’t seem to fit it in any of my existing stands!

B. Is it possible to have the three oscillators output their audio signals separately so they can be independently processed pre-mixer? The ‘Mixer Out/Filter In’ jack is nice but some extra flexibility would be welcome.

Congratulations, the OS is a great synth (the best)

The Profile brand stands I find well made. The regular one holds my Phatty, my Voyager used to be on a heavy duty Profile stand, but is now in a custom made stand, and the Profile now has an 80 pounds Kurzweil on it and holding fine. In this world of globalization, I am pretty sure you can find them in music stores near you.

No about processing individual Osc’s, unless they are external Osc’s. And that spells : MF-107. Add as many as you want

Hi, congrats on your new Voyager, and welcome to the forum!

I have my Voyager Performer on a no-name X-brace stand whose top bars are 14 inches deep. I just set the synth so that it overhangs equally off the front and back. The most important consideration is that the stand be able to support the weight of your synth, and that when the synth is on the stand, it doesn’t have a tendency to tip backward or forward too easily. The floor bars on my stand are 20 inches deep, and it’s not real tippy in either direction when set on a well padded carpet.

As for the oscillators, unfortunately as Portamental pointed out above, there is no way to separate the oscillator’s outputs.

Thank you for your reply. I had a secret hope that some of the pins on the Accessory Port carried the untreated oscillator audio, but, such is not the case. Are the Accessory Port pin signal descriptions available to the public/user?

I will also check out the Profile stands you mentioned.

Go to the Moog Music website, and take look at the panel labels on the VX-351 module that uses the Accessory Port, they pretty much tell the story. You probably don’t want to attempt to DIY something (at least until the warranty has run out anyway.)

Humm I like this line of questioning  I should have, but I haven’t asked. I am using the probe method. Osc’s signals ? Maybe they are there (that would come as a good check/troubleshooting method), cool idea. I didn’t look for them specifically but I think I will.
