I currently have a Little Phatty Tribute that I’ve mainly been using for Sound Design for various film/video projects over the past year or so, as well as some music in progress. I’m thrilled with what it can do.
I can’t help oggling the Voyager every chance I get though, so I know eventually I’ll fork out for one of the three voyager models.
Part of this oggling led me to download the new Desktop wallpaper of the Old School and after studying the knob panel I have a question:
What are those bright green highlighted parts over certain numbers etc that are next to the knobs? I appologize if this has been brought up already/missed by me, but I thought I’d ask anyway. Is that a guide for where to set it to default or something?
These are mark on the panel to get a kind of init patch easily.
I wonder why this needs to be printed on a synth in the royal class price and quality rang eat all. There was nothing like this on the good old Minimoog. And I never missed it there.
Maybe this is for the beginners os synth playing that buy such a professional instrument as their very first synth.
Just ignore these marks and just use the Voyager Old School.
Actually, this information is in the Old School User Manual, page 7:
"Creating Sounds
To create your own sounds from scratch, it’s best to start from a default patch configuration. This will give you a familiar starting point and guaranty that sound will be produced. To set the Voyager OS to a default patch, adjust the knobs and switches according to the light blue/grey markings on the panel. This will give you a basic one-oscillator square wave sound that will act as a blank canvas for your sonic creations."
