Only 200 more will be built?

Eric

They’ll sell out pretty fast…although they will do much better with the Taurus pedals, methinks.

… In fact, Moog is probably clearing capacity for the Taurus.

All things considered, there’s probably nothing stopping Moog from bringing the OS back for a limited run sometime in the future…

What a bummer! I was looking forward to picking one of these up next year. I wonder why Moog is choosing to stop production.

Well that really sucks. I’ve been saving for one of these but it’s going to take me a while to get the rest of the money together.

Most likely it wasn’t sold that good. Otherwise it would not make sense to stop a product.
And the analog boards are stil made for the normal Voyager with memory. So it is not a matter of analog components.

For that matter if they are still tooled for it they could still in theory make the piano bar.

They like to reel us in with these limited edition runs. Heck, Now Id like to have one lol. Jeez. I think Mike Adams or whoever is the brains behind the marketing really knows what we fishies eat!

Ill bet those White Wash OS that NovaMusik was selling will be choise items in the future.

Eric

That’s sad.

Sorry…OT:

Hello Moognase. I miss your music posts. Glad I caught this post…now I know you have a Virb site.

moognase music is great!

Another Moognase fan here :exclamation:

I always thought the Old School would have a very limited appeal but I appreciated that they had the huevos to put it out! :sunglasses:

I just hope there’s still some around when I finally have the cash to get one and that the prices don’t get jacked up.

Chris Stack is the marketing guy at Moog…maybe his name is Stacks…sorry, Chris, I don’t recall how to spell your last name.

The PianoBar was NOT made by Moog Music, but rather, Buchla. Moog agreed to sell them for Buchla. There are still some online retailers that have the PianoBar listed on their websites, and memory sticks are available at Guitar Center.

Yeah I forgot about that. But my point was really that if ford was still tooled, the coulr reissue the Model T.

Eric

Ford still makes that engine…but the bodies would be impossible to make without retooling.

Wow, I am pretty shocked by this news, too! Does anyone know what the total number of units produced is or will be? I’m guessing 1000 or maybe even less? I’m sure glad I bought mine when I did. The main reason I went for the OS over the regular Voyagers is because I don’t really need MIDI or patch storage in every synth I own. I like the fact that there’s none of that extra stuff to get in the way, just like my Juno-6. I imagine there are others that feel this way, too, but maybe it wasn’t selling that well?

Anyway, for me the OS was a refreshing change in a modern synth that allows me to work differently when I choose to. :sunglasses:

I’m sad to see it go!

A guy emailed pictures of the innards of the OS and its really clean in there. It seems like it woudl lend itself to Modification heaven…if it werent going to be a collectors item.
Eric

Pangmaster, I believe they only did a run of 1000…like they will do the Taurus III’s. EricK, EVERYTHING is modifiable. Even Model D’s are being modified, and they are collector’s items RIGHT NOW.

Heck, even my LP is modifiable, as the power supply is easily accessed via the PCB’s copper hooks with the voltage and in some cases, the destination of that voltage, labeled. I wouldn’t recommend doing that, of course, as it voids the warranty. The only reason I did it is because I’m on the brink of absolute insanity.

Worse comes to worse youll be your own nurse.
