Old Prodigy clickiness

I’ve got an old Prodigy I just acquired and it’s in pretty good shape. It’s got your standard dirty pots and switches that I’ll have to clean out, but everything functions. The only thing I’m not sure about fixing is the KB Gate generates a little click on and off, so legato playing has only one click at the start and one at the end, staccato is every note. Adjusting VCF and VCA envelope or VCF cutoff doesn’t seem to affect it except to mask it when the frequency is sufficiently high. Possibly a pot that cleans that click out has gone? Before I start tearing into it willy nilly, I figured I’d ask here to see if anyone has any ideas. I’m sure someone who is familiar with servicing synths would know right away.

thanks!

brian

Adjustment trimmer R129 usually nulls out clicks and thumps.
(later models above s/n 4160 it will be R120)
Could be something else also, but this is usually a first try.

If your serial number is between 1001 and 4160, resistor R130 should be changed from 1meg to 51K also.
Additionally, if the serial is over 2000, it is recommended to change R125 from 1meg to 100K.

Thank you so much. Is this information kept somewhere I don’t know about yet, aside from searching this forum? Googling the topic seems to return scans of the schematics, bad scans of the schematics, and bad OCRs of bad scans of the schematics.

Some can be found on my site: http://www.synthfool.com/docs/Moog/

My R125 seems to be 100Ohms, does that sound right? SN 5697.

Sure it’s not 100K and not 100?
100K is correct per later Moog service update pages for serial numbers above 2000.

What’s the color code showing on it ? If it’s 100K it should be brown, black, yellow. If it’s 1 Meg, it should be brown, black, green.

100 Ohms is brown, black, brown.
