O.T. Delia Derbyshire and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop

Hey gang…

I’ve just discovered this incredible pre synth music from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

The problem is that it’s all out of print except for some Dr.Who music. That is still cool but the John Baker and incredibley foxy Delia Derbyshire(both rip) music is mind blowing.

Does anyone out there have a copy of any of this stuff to sell or trade? Or can someone burn a copy for me?

Thanks,

Dave

There was a CD of the pre-synthesizer material that came out in 2002, “BBC Radiophonic Music”, but you are right that it’s out of print. I wonder why? Perhaps the rights to something on it were disputed.

There was a second one of their synthesizer-era music called “BBC Radiophonic Workshop” - I’m just mentioning it because the names and issue dates are similar. The one with the pink/red cover is the older of the two.

You might luck out and still find them in an alternate music shop.

here is a page with a short clip of Delia

Yeah I’ve seen that one and also Sonic Boom’s Delia Derbyshire shrine too:

Who can burn me that first bbc recording(aka pink box one)?

nice radiophonic workshop release on rephlex records…

kinda pricey now though as it was a ltd. edition.

My friend has that. I didn’t cross-check every track, but it looks to me like a vinyl compilation of the 2 reissued CDs (as it includes bonus tracks not on the vintage LPs but contained on the CDs and nothing jumped out that seemed exclusive)

Just paid through the teeth for it on EBAY’

Thanks for nothing guys.
