cool goodies in Presets Library!!!
do we want them read-only?
two strange things in the cool-new Presets Library:
1 Salmagundi/ComputaGames (HelloSamples).syx
not a preset? doesn’t show up in list
correct size, but header starts f0 04 0c 05 05 versus f0 04 0c 04 07 for an edit buffer
2 Trash Audio/Richard Devine/Devine Presets.syx
large preset dump 203K, header starts f0 04 0c 01 05
correctly doesn’t show up in list
Dumb question, but is the “Capture Hardware” function supposed to capture the current state of all knobs, buttons & lights and update the Editor’s display to reflect the current state? Or is it just for capturing the current state to the Librarian?
I haven’t really tried the “Capture Hardware” button until now and expected the Editor to literally capture the current state of everything on the Sub37 and update the Editor’s display to reflect the current settings. However, the Editor doesn’t seem to be doing this.
Indeed. A couple of great presets in there, giving some ideas to further explore the Sub 37’s capabilities.
We would want them read-only. But actually, what we (and Apple) really wants, is that they are installed in the System /Library/Application Support location! Because that is read-only by default, and can be read by all users. Only the current user’s presets should be stored in the Users ~/Library/Application Support location.
tried to update from 1.1.16 firmware to the .23 with the updater software, failed @ first attempt.the problem is somewhere in the 2nd phase. a second attmept failed, i clicked ‘try again’ and now it seems to be installing, be it rather slowly. end result: succeeded
i remember having the same with updating to 1.16
haven’t tried the midiox-sysex way.
using windows 8home 64 bit
now for the editor
-i’m still on 32bit software because i haven’t found replacement for some non 64bit plugs and last time i tried it it seemed less stable.
installed editor plugin, for now it says ‘not connected’ i specified the usb sub37 as in & out, is shows up in the ableton preferences, input is set to ‘track’ on, out is set to ‘sync’ only
anyone know what i’m doing wrong?
EDIT apparently since running the standalone version one time, it works fine
The standalone version does detect the Sub,
works great,
but in sync mode the lfo1 and arp follow and change their clock divisions,
but in rate mode the dial doesn’t follow/respond
( the one on lfo2 does, and works as expected)
instead the clock division responds in a strange way: from 6 to 10 o clock you get the divisions, above 10 the clock division 64T is always shown
arpeggiator section works flawlessly, i remember the previous version being quite quirky.
'tis quite lovely to be able to create some structure in the chaotic mess of my user presets, though
