Has anyone else had problems with note latch after upgrading to FW 1.11? Since installing the update, turning note latch on no longer has any effect. I did a factory restore and powered down, but note latch isn’t working.
That does seem to be the case.
Really? That’s bizarre. I’m sure I checked it many times. However, there was a lot of pressure to finish this update as soon as possible… not as much internal beta testing as I would have liked.
I’ve pulled down the links and I’ll be taking a close look at this in the morning. Sorry for the trouble, and thanks very much for checking it out and giving me good feedback.
Stay tuned,
Amos
Works for me…
Amos,
Take your time man.

Works for me…
“Latch” or “Note Latch”?
Just so that I am clear, when “Note Latch” is ON I should be able press and release a pedal - say the low C - and the arpeggiator will start (assuming that “Latch” is on). Then when I press the same pedal, that note stops arpeggiating.
I could have other pedals on (arpeggiating). And if I can keep track, I should be able to start and stop individual notes while others continue to play.
I was able to do this before the recent update.
Note latch works for me – pressing a note causes the note to hold until I press the pedal again. You’re talking about use w/ the arpeggiator, though? I think I did notice something weird about that.
I’m referring to Note Latch (in the Advanced Presets menu) in a dual sense:
-
When Note Latch is set to ON in non-arpeggiating patches, it should control the action of the Envelope Gate, enabling the sustaining of notes without keeping a pedal held down.
-
When Note Latch is set to ON in arpeggiating patches in conjunction with Arpeggiator Latch ON, it should allow one to build up chords in the arpeggiator note stack (akin to a step sequencer).
Neither function works for me since FW 1.11. Both worked previously.
Huh. Both those things seem to work for me. It’ll be interesting to see what develops…
Aha: the setting under Advanced Presets doesn’t work. But the Hotkey does.
I see what happened. Sorry about that. Yes it’s the Advanced Preset option that doesn’t work. Note Latch as a functional mode works fine. Here’s how to turn on Note Latch:
Press and hold the Transpose/PGM foot switch to get into PGM mode.
The Transpose/PGM LED will flash rapidly, letting you know you’re in this mode.
Now the Octave footswitch toggles Note Latch on and off.
All the Note Latch functions work fine, once it’s actually turned on.
I confess, I find this footswitch method so much more fast and intuitive to use that I actually forgot about the Note Latch option on the Advanced Preset menu… so I forgot to test it, which is why I didn’t know it was broken.
My apologies. Working on this now.
