Not bad for a non-Moog synth...

Hi all.

Here’s my latest collaboration with my long time best friend on synths. I only play the lead on a non-Moog synth, which sounds almost as good. It was recorded before I could get my hands on a Minimoog D.
I’ll let you try to guess what synth it is… (its name is listed in the comments)
Enjoy.

That sounds like 1985! My guess it’s the 100M?

I’m guessing it’s the Korg Mono Poly. There’s that Korg twang that I keep picking up.

Good ear, Voltor! You win!

That “twang”, as you call it, is produced by using the “effect” section on it which combines FM and Sync modulated by either an envelope or LFO.

Yeah, it’s a very distinct sound, that I’ve only ever heard from a Korg.

Nice track. looking at the comments before listening my guess was the Mono/Poly , knew for sure when I heard it, as Voltor said has that “korg” sound to it. . I think it worked best for that track, even if a D were laying around.

Congrats Voltor! And yes Alien that is a pretty cool track.

My favorite of yours is “I Feel Moog Love”

That kick my ass on how well you did that.

Listening right now. I like this a lot, Alien! That Mono/Poly sounds amazing! I’ve always thought those were such cool synths. Well done sir

The polyphony at the end gave away the fact that you were playing the Mono/Poly

Thanks. It is the one that required the most work on my part; 26 tracks of hand-played sounds following a click track… That 2 minutes of music took almost a week to record and finalize properly.

Thanks Kenneth. I knew someone would probably pick-up on that…
