No Mod Bug?

Hi there, I’ve been experiencing a weird bug with my phatty ever since I installed the latest software update. This is how it goes:

1- The little phatty works perfectly as far as I can tell, but after a few days , something happens that makes the mod wheel start acting weird

2- The mod wheel no longer controls the modulation amount but rather changes the pitch of the oscillators, and this happens to every patch, not just the selected patch.

3- In order to try to fix the issue, I’ve tried to turn off and then on the LP, and I’ve also tried to do a master reboot, but none fixes the problem.

4- The only way I’ve been able to temporarily fix the problem has been to return the LP to factory settings, but this is very frustrating 'cause I end up loosing the patches I’ve modified or created.

5- One possible common factor that might be causing the problem, is that I’ve noticed that every time I create a patch of my own, a few days later the bug will re-appear.

Amos, any thoughts?

Pardon me if this has been reported before.

nope, that’s a totally new one. You’re sayin that you can set the mod source and destinations to anything you like, but the mod wheel always is directly changing the pitch of (bot) oscillators?

Can you tell if it is changing the pitch by the same amount, on every patch?

What model LP and what OS version specifically are you using now?

This is an interesting situation… I might need to get Cyril in on this one.

Hi Amos,

Yes, the pitch of both oscillators is being changed by the same amount.

I have a LP Stage V1, running OS 2.00S

It seems as if the patches get corrupted or something goes corrupt.

Regards,

Am I really the only one with this issue?

Could it be that my installation of 2.0 is corrupt??

This is weird :open_mouth:

Hi Amos,Should I send my LP to Moog for repair? or I should wait for a software fix?

I am asking this, because it appears like I am the only individual with this problem, maybe I did something wrong during the installation of 2.0?.

Best Regards,

Daniel

You might want to send all your presets to your computer using the Sysex menu in order to save your patches and than try the factory reset.

Yes I’ve already done that, but I wanna be able to save patches in the LP without having to worry about doing that all the time.

Thanks.

Send me an email at amos a la moogmusic.com and I will send you a new OS installation file. I think it’s definitely possible that the OS got corrupted somehow. If re-installing the OS doesn’t seem to help, then I can replace the memory chip on which saved presets are stored, in case that is somehow being a problem. My first guess is OS trouble though.
Don’t worry, whatever it is we can take care of it.

Cheers,

Amos

Sent the Email.

Thanks Amos, you guys are great!
