I’ve just received my Voyager (Cherrywood bought from Novamusik).
I can’t find a preset where the keyboard velocity works. I mean that the key velocity could be assigned to the level, or to the filter freq it is in my opinion something basic.
No luck, it seems that the only way to change the volume while you play is to use a pedal???
I’m wrong, does my Voyager has a keyboard issue?
Try preset #8 in bank 3.
Use shaping=VELOCITY source=ON, or pot mapping to assign velocity to volume. It works.
with pot mapping i can get it working, but without it doesn’t! But Why??
After loading the initial sound, I select the following parameters for mod-bus 2 (pedal):
Source: ON
Destination: PGM
Shaping: Velocity
Amount: 10
In the edit menu, under 2.4 (PGM-Pedal Dest.) I choose “Osc. 1 Level”, but it sounds always the same, no matter how hard i hit the keys.
What am I doing wrong?
That’s normal. Use pot mapping instead.

That’s a good question… I think it’s not a bug.
I have to dive into the schematics - maybe I will find an explanation.
Or maybe the guys from Moogmusic know the reason.

OK, I checked the schematics and the circuit is correct.
It’s a multiplier and it is not so easy for me to explain the circuits.
You can improve the result when you’re using pot mapping.
Here’s an example:
Velocity should control the volume of oscillator 1.
Mod Wheel Source = On/Mod2
Mod Wheel Destination = PGM (EDIT menu Osc 1 Level)
Mod Wheel Shaping = Velocity
Pot Mapping 1 Source = Velocity Attack
Pot Mapping 1 Destination = Mod 2
Pot Mapping 1 Amount = 100%
The pot mapping boosts the PGM source and the effect.

Hi, I’m wanting to use velocity to control volume dynamics, i.e., just like one would when playing piano.
I’m trying to use the Pot Mapping method described above, except that I set the destination to Master Volume. The odd thing to me though is that I can’t adjust the master volume with the knob anymore. Wouldn’t it be more useful if the max attack velocity would scale to the current Master Volume setting instead of overriding the Master Volume control?
I tested this after reading your post.
My master volume control wouldn’t work either, though in the past when pot mapping, I tried to modulate the filter cutoff in a similar fashion, but the actual cutoff pot was still functional.
Pot mapping shouldn’t negate the position of the actual pot…in my opinion.

Hmm, setting to 50% allows the Master Volume knob to control the max volume, but the min velocity doesn’t map to silence anymore. I get sound no matter how softly I press.
If you want velocity and a total control of the master volume use a foot pedal or control the oscillator volumes with the pot mapping function.

What I’m really looking for is piano-like dynamic volume control with keyboard velocity. If you know of a better way to achieve this, I’m all ears.
I’m using a MIDI sequencer to play notes with increasing velocity just to further test the Amounts of 50% vs. 100% with Pot Mapping of attack velocity to Master Volume. With 100% I seem to get a fuller dynamic range, whereas 50% seems to greatly compress the dynamic range and chop off the ability to play at really low volumes. For the sake of musical expression, I guess I’ll just use 100% and be aware that the master volume knob won’t work.
As a workaround, could you pot map Headphone Volume to Oscillator Level?
I thought about that…but youd have to use the Headphone output to your speaker source.
