I blew the bank on a Voygager XL, minitarus, theramin plus and several foogers specifically the ringmod, delay, freq box and murf
The idea was to purchase as much modular type moog gear as I could in no way possibly afford.
Anyway as you are not doubt aware the Voyager XL has many control voltage option’s added on.
I’m planning to sell some item’s and scrape together the cash to complete a set of modular option’s for the Voyager
Which do you advise I purchase next. The phaser and the filter seem interesting the minitaur can double as and external filter I must assume, the clusterflux is the priciest of the bunch but also seem’s to me the most interesting
I would appreciate any advice from those experienced with the wonderful sounding equipment.
I too started on a route to build a modern day (semi) Modular Moog. The only place where Moog is lacking in the fooger department is with ASDR and VCA, which is best supplemented with modules of a third party. This is really the only thing keeping the Foogers from being a totally independent synth. I’ve been hoping for years that they would make one.
In a modular synth there is no redundancy so having the 101 will still benefit you. You might as well go ahead and get the 108m since you seem to be attracted to it. I surely am, but I had to pass on it this time to focus on other projects.
You would still benefit from having a second cp251 also.
I saw on ebay someone had two foogers and an MP201 for sale for 1000. I believe it was the filter and Freqbox and they were using the mp201 for the envelopes. For the prices that the 201 is going for now, that is a good deal.
In my experience though, the foogers didn’t satisfy the desire for a modular. I initially wanted to get a NOS system 15, but that failed so I went the dotcom route.
I’m still working on ergonomics. Missing from this is an Etherwave plus and T3. Also, I am awaiting delivery of a STG Mixer which is supposed to be a clone of a Moog CP3.
A very nice set up there, I attempting to construct myself a wooden work station out of some nice old Hammond spinet part’s I saved. Plan on building a shelf for the foogers directly above the Voyager Xl if it ever drive’s that is it is on back order currently. I’ve notice some misc modular stuff on ebay any particular brand’s you recommend?
