Next 1.5 update, when ?

6 monthes since v1.4. It’s a long time between updates. Does this mean they are working on a major 1.5 (2.0 ?) update ?

I hope sequencer bugs solved and poly aftertouch compatibility.

You are right.
I hope they address some of the long remain issues or puzzling behaviors.
—> I might take this opportunity to re-assess my personal list of issues and expected enhancements…
Since there is no feedback on what we post here, I think it’s legit to post again and again, even if it feels awkward
Some enhancements took time but were eventually delivered (eg: the release velocity as a modulation source took more than a year)

I trust Moog

Lack of CV gate, clock, envelopes, LFO out etc has been a real disappointment. Totally took away the steam and excitement I had for the instrument. I keep hoping they can enable that with the next update.

Way back when they also mentioned MPE…

I’m aware (through contacts) they’re currently working on multiple releases for this year , no dates though. They are aware of the delay and working hard to resolve. I understand that full CV I/O is part of one of the releases. I’m cutting them some slack, even though I’m itching for the next release.

Moog never fixed all bugs on the Taurus 3 because they said, that they will finish the Version 1 of some new synths first.
Same happened to the MP-201.
I would not bet on a version 1.5 being released. And for sure not hold my breath till then.

Would be nice to be able to press the 3 ‘more’ buttons next to VCOs 1, 2 and 3 to get a single-screen display representing the tuning of the three oscillators.

Will be trying to use the Moog One as the MIDI controller of a modular set up fairly soon. I know Grandmother and Matriarch are probably better suited to this with their patch points but it will be interesting to see how well Moog One integrates with Grandmother, Mother-32, DFAM, Subharmonicon, Behringer Neutron, CAT, K-2 (MS-20 clone), Pro-1, TD-6 (606 clone), RD-8 (808 clone) and TD-3 (303 clone).

Dang!!! What a bunch of kvetches!!!

Please respect other people opinions.

…and still waiting for them to implement response to PolyAT over MIDI.

A year ago they told me they were working hard on 2.0.

ZZZZZZZ

I don’t understand why there has been no update at all.

Come on Moog!

Might be a very hard and long test phase for the next release. Good quality needs time. That is, what we want, or not?

Over a year since the last firmware update. Not very encouraging…

For a next 1.5 I would agree to you.

But - I hope - in this case it will probably be a major update 2.0. Our bug- and wish list was and it is very long …

Let’s start telling that i love my Moog One. But it is a big shame that such a powerful synth has a lot of bugs and no updates were released since july-august 2020!!! Come on Moog…after all we spent only around 8400 bucks. At least you should say if you are working on an update. I think that your customers deserve more attention

Man, those operators must be really really busy

Captains Log, Stardate 9.14.21

(02:16:19 PM) Me: Howdy Folks, just want to find out if we might get a 1.5 firmware release before the end of the year. I currently have a Moog One 16 voice, Thanks!!!
(02:17:21 PM) Moog Music: We apologize for keeping you waiting! Our operators are busy at the moment, please leave us a message with your email address and we’ll get back to you shortly.

So far all I’m getting back is crickets. Thinking about amplifying them and throwing some sine and saws at em

Has Moog Music Inc closed down due to COVID-19 perhaps? Leaving only the automated answering service, and forum on?
Seems like it’s been abandoned for over a year now…
So, has history repeated itself, with the overambitious Moog One having sunk the company, much like the Memorymoog did back in the day? I’m wondering…

The silence is what I find disappointing. Especially to those of us willing to invest in the One.

Well in fairness they have launched a new clothing range and updated the iOS 15 app whilst launching a SR synth case for the matriarch…so it’s not all doom and gloom

I’m sure a firmware upgrade is coming but agree the lack of Comms is depressing given Amos et al spending all that time initially guiding us through the early developments as well as responding to feature requests. Not sure why they’ve changed their approach on what is their flagship product after all.

The flagship ain’t paying the bills. I actually think (based on some hearsay) that the development and production cost of the Moog One is still not covered by the turnovers from sold units. So, making apps and merch is what Moog needs to do, unfortunately.
