Newbie Quick Question (??)

Hi folks,

i just joined the site today and have a quick question for you please.

Is this site for ORIGINAL Moog models (ie those of the 70’s and 80’s era), or more for the models post year 2000 (like the Voyager etc) ?? i can see a few threads here and there regarding older models but mostly this site seems to be about the newer technology (though of course i could be wrong here).

And if not, is there another site which is dedicated to the vintage type models (or is this forum the best and also the Official) ??

Welcome monsterjazzlicks (AKA Paul).

I’ve been a member of this forum for a while now, and it is for everything Moog. Old, new, and everything in between.

There are dedicated sections for current products. But for the good’ol stuff it is usually in this general topics section with many owners and techs coming here frequently to share knowledge and tips.

If you want to know something about a vintage Moog, first try a search on this forum about it, and if you don’t find what you’re looking for you can always ask here…

So if i wanted to know some things about the ORIGINAL MINIMOOG then i am ok to post the question here in the ‘General Topics Forum’ ?? i mean, there is not a dedicated ‘Original Minimoog Forum’ (ie. everything goes here in the ‘General Topics Forum’) ??

The current Moog Music does not support products from the 1960-70-80 era, but the forum members here do what we can.

So you mean that MOOG MUSIC does not offer TECHNICAL SUPPORT for vintage keyboards (hence all the photos of modern synths on the homepage). And therefore any question regarding such older models are posted in this forum and resolved by members of the community ??

This is a totally different company from the NY Moog Music and they don’t service the multitudes of original units out there. They manufacture new units but service them going back to their Big Briar days. As per their website:

i will post my questions regarding the original Moog in a seperate thread within the ‘General Topics Forum’.

Something i would really like is to have a photo of myself set as an avatar, but the Jpeg image image keeps getting rejected. It says the dimensions are wrong. It would be fantastic if someone could help me please to get it fixed. i have not had a problem on any other site with it as far as i can remember. Meybe someone might be kind enough to digitally ‘trim’ it for me ??
