New to hardware synths/firmware issue

Hi, new to hardware synths, having a bit of trouble making it all go smoothly.

Current set up

Mac running osSierra 10.12.3

Tascam US 1800 audio/midi interface
Moog Minitaur
MPK mini

all I want is for all these things to work harmoniously with Ableton Live 9

It kind of works, occasionally, when it wants to. It’ll all work great for a session. Then suddenly theres huge latency issues, crackling and now the minitaur just won’t produce sound though no specs or anything has been changed. tweaking things here and there, I decided to update firmware. Wish I didn’t.
All seemed like it worked, until now Glide button just flashes and of course, no sound. I unplugged it, re plugged it and the glide button still flashes.
Devastated as I really shouldn’t have forked out the cash if I can’t even use it. I’m not super tech savvy, so I’m hoping someone can help. Ugh.

Sounds like the Minitaur is in boot loader mode. Try resending the firmware from C6. It is a very simple sysex handler and there’s no need to mess with buffer size or speed.

I understand it is in bootloader mode, waiting for the firmware. Just send the firmware file using a sysex program as stated in the guide and it should reboot and work again. You need to calibrate it after an update, most of the times.

Of course the best bet is to ask Moog’s tech support for help.

I don’t think there is something wrong with your unit, this sounds completely normal to me.
