New Sub Phatty - No sound

I just bought a new Sub Phatty at a retailer two hours ago. I brought it home, plugged the power cable in, ran a 1/4" TS cable from the Audio Out jack to my amplifier, and turned the synth on. The panel preset and control lights came on, but no sound is produced when I press keys on the keyboard. I made sure the Master and Headphone dials and the Oscillator Mixer dials were turned up, and currently every dial on the control panel is facing 12 o’clock. I tried using headphones as well. Still no sound is produced when I play the keyboard. An expected popping noise can be heard in the headphones when i turn the device off and on.

Any ideas?

Check you have local on activated.

have you tried with headphones?

Ok, this may sound too obvious, but I made that mistake once: Are you sure you connected your amplifier to Audio OUT and not to Audio IN?

I did taht too, but he’s having no sound through the headphones output neither.

Local setting it is, me say.

Already went back to the shop and exchanged it for a new unit. Looking back, the Local Control setting was probably the issue. I must have missed that when i went through the manual. I wish the admin had approved my post sooner so I could have solved the problem.

try the “initialize globals” command…

Amos,
re this sheet it seems that the USE PRESET KB OCTAVE does not work…At least it does not go back to normal mode when you press C or C# twice.

fixed – thanks!
