hallo,
i just received a big box, from the states. inside should be a “brand new” ,never played on moog voyager from the signature series. i’m excited.
just wondered 'bout one little thing before i start opening the box: can i switch him in 220volt immediately, or do i have to reset a switch or even buy an adapter before ?
maybe stupid question , however i want to be sure before destroying anything.
thanks for the effort of answering, and afcourse i’ll keep you informed 'bout the progression.
sunny
Congrats. Welcome to the 600 club
. What number ? Sorry, I am not sure on the voltage, it maybe okay but drop Moog a line to see.
Not a stupid question at all.
If it’s never been opened it probably has the original OS, you can download and up date through MIDI though. You can’t however go from the earliest to current one, you have to go in stages to some point then you can jump up several revs without a problem. I forget at what os number and rev though, it may be in the archives some where or I am sure some one else on here remembers or contact Moog
.
You are going to have a blast. At some point get the VX 351 for it and the CP 251 along with some MoogerFoogers. Placing the MF 102 or 103 in the filter loop opens up a lot of cool sounds.
The kind folks at Moog used a multi-input power supply (100-230VAC). So yes, plug your IEC “jug cord” in and get playing! ![]()
Your new friend looks like it has some great company, too!
i do my best to make him feel welcome and at home, after all i intend to let him stay a long long time.
thanks for the reply’s , excuse me for a short while, have to unwrap a thing or two.., take a dive, you know…
See you in about a week ![]()
Welcome to the Forum and congradulations on your Maiden Voyage.

SE= Signature Edition
Hey if it really is a Signature Edition, then it may have been played on before…by Bob Moog himself.
Eric
Sorry, The Signiture Edition (SE) , have you spent a lot of time getting to know the function and features and more important having fun with it ? ![]()
It was rumored that as part of it being a Signature Edition Bob was supposed to have personally checked each SE before he signed front panel and the certificate of authenticity.
(stupid me, afcourse you mean the signature edition and not a se1 or so…)
well just tried it for an hour on the most.
must say that she feels good, also one of the few synths which didn’t make me even think of reading the manual . just finding your way so easily, that’s typical for a musical instrument imho.
sound has lot’s of potential, always souns good andno llimits found yet.
the aftertouch indeed has an not optimal responds: sets in at halfways and works only over a short spann. well probably i’m spoiled by the multimoogs responds, guess i’ll have to upgrade on that one. also have to have a look at the range of the pitchwheel as it isn’t an octave i guess. and the touchscreen is so much fun, just wonder if i missed out on a hold function for that one
but oke, stop searching for grains in low water, this thing is GREAT.
i’m so happy with it, it sound , feels and has every touch of a music-instrument , and that’s the real big deal to me
Hi Sunny! Congratulations on your instrument.
Yes, the aftertouch is improved on the new Voyagers,
and this is something you can upgrade on your synth.
I hope you get lots of joy from your new Moog!

Helluw Sunny…and welcome on this forum too… ![]()
For the modifications like the aftertouch on you’re Voyager you can best get into contact with Rudi Linhard which is one the best European spot to get this done.
I brought my Voyager to him some time ago and had several mods done by him which made my Voyager even more unique.
Btw…when is see you’re piccies on SF it didn’t looked like a Cherry colored Voyager but more like a Maple version…or am i in need for some glasses. ![]()
i wondered that too, although the nerve of the wood is cherry like. could it be that cherry colours when it ages?
This is my Cherry so you can compare… :

i don’t know , this is what i found 'bout it:

how many years is yours out of the box?
thanks anyway, will see in a year or so, whatever i’ll love it non the less for it.
Show us that Signature!
Can’t beat a Voyager and a MultiMoog for anything!
Multimoog=1/3 of Constellation. Multimoog+Taurus pedals=2/3 of Constellation. Multimoog+Taurus pedals+Polymoog=Constellation! Almost almost there! ![]()
