New Moog piece

In case anyone’s interested:

I’ve just put a piece on my website that mostly uses the Moog Voyager. The opening section and all the melodic lines are Voyager, as are the modulated parts such as the echoed downward doppler effects.

There’s also a bit of Arturia Modular V in the middle section (echoed bass parts) and MiniMoog V was used for the sequence at the end.

Vocoder parts by Roland V-Synth vocoder card. Plus plucked psaltery and Fender Stratocaster, Lexicon MPX 550 and Line 6 Delay Modeller. Guitar effects by V-synth.

As well as my voice, the female voice parts are samples provided by an old friend, Lauren Edman (Sleepthief project, Delta-S etc).

I could explain more fully what it’s about, but I don’t want to bore anyone if no-one’s interested.

The piece is called Tristan, and it’s at http://sweep.infinite9ths.com

At the moment it’s the second piece on the player, but that’s liable to change with time.

Very nice piece. Calming, soothing, and enjoyable!

yeh, kind of very relaxing chill music. I enjoyed Dragon Hill and Frog Hollow very much. More of that type of endless outro thing ( in a positive sense) that you can sort of dig in and drift along too.

But that’s just the poet in me. Wrong forum I guess then..

Thanks for that. I’m glad it’s coming over well.

Mysterycircuits, it’s interesting that you’ve specifically mentioned Frog Hollow, as the DX7 usually gets such a negative response. And especially interesting on an analogue synth forum. I evidently did what I set out to do with that piece, then.

BTW I don’t know if it’s obvious enough when looking at the forum (I’m thinking about making it clearer), but if you use the various' classical’ and so forth tabs on the left you get access to the music with notes on each piece. Most pieces are under the `various’ tab.

So far Tristan is the only piece with extensive use of the Voyager.

(Incidentally there’s a fault with `Hayley Dreams of Japanese Gardens,’ which is only playing the first ten seconds at the moment. That will be sorted soon.

I always tend to just listen to the music, not what 's being used, and I think you got a couple of nice musical pieces- Doesn’t need to be a -analog- given synth. Synthwise, I’m just a beginner. I usually play guitar, and bought a LP about a year ago. Great fun!!
