What new goodies (other than the Taurus) do you think Moog will unveil at the 2010 NAMM show a few days from now? I’ve heard rumors of a 2-voice Voyager, and the Phatty in the Moog NAMM photos looks like it might have white-colored sides - a Stage III, perhaps?
those two sets of T3’s set up in the NAMM both are killing me. too bad they don’t have a tracking device built in to see how many times visitors step on them. i bet it will be well into the thousands…
guys-just be happy they have brought us the taurus 3. flippin heck, its not easy designing and building new synths. give em a chance yeah?
you dont want to show all your cards at once anyway, thats a sure fire way to get yourself in trouble..now the next logical step would be a poly in mine and im sure in many peoples minds but thats gonna be the biggest engineering challenge yet for the moog team..
let them do their thing and bring us goodies in a slow and thoughtful fashion
I don’t think that Moog would pursue another major product without a fair amount of market research (ie. surveys, pre-order committments, etc.) in this day and age.
Having said that, if they have products which are shipping already and they can make minor (low cost) tweaks to renew interest then more power to them… it takes a well hyped marketing campaign and good timing to create enough of a buzz to keep consumers hitting their retailers for availability (like Apple).
Mike, I think you are right. A little Moog birdie just told me that there is no new Phatty, and as for the rumors of a 2-voice Voyager, they remain just that - rumors. Someone earlier stated that the Taurus alone is a huge accomplishment for the year (so true), and so we will keep our eyes towards the future for new Moog goodies.
Moogerfooger MF-042 NPF No Pass Filter - audio checks in but they don’t check out
Moogerfooger MF-120US LFO - fixed level of 120V, fixed frequency of 60hz
Moogerfooger MF-240UK LFO Export British version fixed level of 240V, fixed frequency of 50hz
Mike - too funny - how 'bout the Moogerfooger MF-043 GPF Gas Pass Filter - turns your otherwise noxious emissions into bubbly-sounding Moog sonics. I’m very envious that you got to sit in on the Taurus testing, that must have been so cool! I was wishing I could have been a “fly on the wall” there as I was watching the video. I’m very glad Moog had a true Taurus fan there for the comparisons, and glad that they meet with your approval. Did they give you any idea how soon they would start shipping?
