Picked up my LP Stage Edition yesterday, #16. It’s everything that I had hoped for
One thing that sort of caught my eye is the fact that the headphone jack looks slightly malformed, but this has no effect on operation. Anyone else have weird looking headphone jacks?
Array the same here. I have TE #SE00376 last week, and has the same Jack.
This is my first hardware synth (and the first SE sold in Argentina) and I´m very happy. U can play very easy and sound greeeeeeeat! I used Arturia VST but Little Phatty is really better.
It looks as though the washer isn’t perfectly centered. Other than that, I’m not sure what’s wrong with it. When you plug a line into it, is it straight, or skewed diagonally?
Be very careful with this. The nut is tightened quit snug at the factory. If you try to loosen the nut without holding the jack internally the nut can spin the jack, twist the wires internally and pull the connector off the PCB. Trust me, i’ve done this once or twice.
It may be possible to loosen the nut but if it looks or feels like the jack is spinning as well, stop!
Here’s some advice if you must align the washer. NOTE that opening the LP can void your warrenty! You can remove the screws from the right hand side panel, set the panel and side plate aside, carefully reach in and grab the jack but DO NOT touch the circuit board next to the jack, hold the jack firmly and then loosen the nut. Put everything back like it was when satisfied but be careful to align the side panel screws with all of the holes and put the right screws into the right holes.
Another bit of advice when doing this is to ground yourself using a ground strap or at least make sure you are static free by touching a metal surface before reaching into the LP’s side. ESD (electro static discharge) can damage the internal components. Avoid contact with the PCB’s like the plague.
Obviously the word “Just” wasn’t very well thought out. Thanks, theglyph, for stepping in. I would have hated to give advice that seriously damaged someone’s precious Moog. Hopefully Array hasn’t done anything yet.
Just a small confirmation here that the headphone jack of my LP TE also looks like that. I don’t think that I had ever noticed it unless someone had pointed it out to me, so I will let it stay like that…
