Please read the second post on this page. It suggests that Moog soon will use a keyboard produced by CME. Is a new Moog synth in the making or will the Voyager get a new keyboard?
It doesn’t say moog anywhere in that post.
From the post:
Actually our keybed has our own patent, it used in many OEM keyboard such as Kurzwxxx, GEx, EMx, Suzuxx, Samix, ESx etc, UF is our first own product.
The 88 keys passed the 1 million times test, the 49/61/76 keys are totally same, and it feels good, it also will be use in Moox keyboard soon.>
No, it doesn’t say Moog. But I’d guess that Moox=Moog, in the same way as Kurtzwxxx=Kurtzweil, Suzuxx=Suzuki etc. Of course, Moox could mean Mood, Moon, Moor or Moot, none of which is a well-known synth manufacturer AFAIK. ![]()
May Moog Music will use their keyboard action in favour of the now used Fatar on on the Voyager.
BTW: they use the very same keyboard action as used on all Waldorf Q and microQ keyboards. And many other synth from other companies.
And this CME is a Chinese company. So their keyboard action might not be better. But most likely lower in price then the italian Fatar keyboard actions.
The CME keyboards are actually very nice to play . . If moog move to CME then that would be OK . . it’s certainly as nice to play as a fatar. (I own a fatar 880 SL weighted master keybaord and i think the CME feels better, certainly closer to the lovely action on my Roland fp5 piano).
My early Signature Edition Voyager #86 feels like it has a different keyboard then the Performer, AE and BE . . it feels much nicer to play - can anyone confirm whether moog switched keybeds . . I remember there being something about the aftertouch not working properly . . and to get mine to work smoothly I patch out to the lag on the 251 and back in again.

Right mee3d,
i’ve had a signature edition for checking which had a different keyboard than the later bought performer edition s# 1970. The later one was more weighted and has rounded keys. I had the chance to touch a aniversary edition and it had a keyboard which had the most weighted keys of all.
i hope they don’t use something made in china. I’ve never got to know something that’s good from there.
