So I am attempting to update my LP II to OS 2.2 but I am not having any luck. I have tried both using the MIDI port on my Presonus Firepod which seem to be working fine because I can control my gear through them, and the MIDI-USB port on the LP. I have tried to use C6, SysEx librarian, and the Little Phatty Editor from Soundtower. I was able to back up my my presets just fine prior to attempting the 2.2 update.
three odd things.
I clicked on the link to download OS 2.2 and it did not download the .syx file, it opened a the text of the file. When I right clicked to down load the file and save to the desktop I it download with a .syx.txt suffix. I renamed it by removing the .txt suffix.
the name of the firmware file is, LP_Stage_OSv2_2.syx, which is different than the LP OS 2.2 release notes which state the name of the file is LP_T_103c_470.syx
3). In general my LP has been acting strange today prior to me attempting to upgrade the OS. The sound of the patch would would change suddenly, even through a program change message had not been sent. The arpeggiator was not working correctly as per the preset. And at at time, when the sound the sound preset changed the text in the LP LCD would switch from the name of the preset to weird gibberish.
not sure what nick sent you, but if i recall Amos mentioned in an earlier post that the name of the firmware in the notes was a typo, so you should be OK there.
Outta curiosity did you turn FW Update to ON before running the update?
