Don’t know if anyone knows about this. Well i didn’t. Otherwise; sorry.
In July the new ep-2 expression pedal is going to be released. Think/hope it’s gong to be sturdier. Guess so, cause text says it’s twice as heavy as the ep-1.
And with a good price! 40 bucks

The Moog EP-2 expression pedal lets you fine-tune any parameter of your moogerfooger! You can add even more functionality to your moogerfooger when you plug in the Moog EP-2 expression pedal. An External Output level adjustment allows you to fine tune the control voltage output while using the pedal through its full range of motion. This pedal is sturdy - twice as heavy as Moog’s original expression pedal! A new “string and spring” mechanism adds great feel and precise control to the Moog EP-2.

yep,
well at least i can’t order it any more from the german distributor.
their website says the ep1 is not available anymore and in july there will be the new ep2.
it’s the same price for a better pedal so i’m very glad!
Yeah, the EP-1 is a totally un-Moogish, cheap-o, lightweight piece of crap, if I may say so.
Made in Italy to boot, if I remember correctly. Not that that is a bad thing in itself, but still…
You are 100% right.
The EP-1 is a shame and not worth the Moog logo.
It is indeed made in Italy by the wellknown keyboard action builder Fatar.
I thought I would get a durable, heavy duty meta pedal.
And I received a lightwight plastic one.
I am glad I bought it used at eBay for less then the official price.
If the new pedal is a propper Moog quality one, then it is the right way to go by Moog.
BTW: not all Fatar pedals are bad. But the better are about twice as expensive then the cheapo ones.
I got the chance to check out the EP2. It’s much better than the EP1. It’s got a good solid feel and some weight. It also has a attenuator knob on the side like the EV5
