I just did a little experiment for shits and giggles; Many of you OSX users out there may be familiar with the Audio / MIDI Setup application. I have multiple Macs in my home. One is in my studio connected to my keyboards (including the Sub 37) as well as a couple of Mackie Onyx i mixers. Another is in my office in a separate room.
What I did as an experiment was to create a session called Sub 37 On The Net on the studio computer. The Live Routings go from the Sub 37 USB MIDI connection to the Sub 37 USB MIDI connection. Then I created a network session on my office computer called Sub 37 Net. I then connected the office computer session the the Sub 37 On The Net session on the studio computer.
Then I fired up RC3 of the Stand Alone Sub 37 Editor. PRESTO!! Instant connection and control of the Sub 37. I could affect the Sub 37 from my office and I could affect the software session from the Sub 37 itself. Way Cool! ![]()
I’m not sure what type of practical application this may have but I wanted to try it out. I guess that’s what retired network administrators do for kicks. It does show that the Sub 37 software is nicely compliant with the Mac’s network protocols. Way to go Moog!
