need some help

i have a old triton studio keyboard and i want to use the moog rme to filter some of my bass and strings ,similar to what is shown on the dvd using an external audio section my only question is hes using a the keyboard version, im not sure if it works the same for racks, althought i can see the red light next to mixer flashing when i play my triton thru it i just cant hear the difference ,how do you filter using an external keyboard with moog rme?

Okay, wait a minute. If the mixer light is on, the synth is getting an audio signal and is sending it through the filter before mixing it into the main audio output.

yhea reason i asked was altought its lit when i turn some of the filter knobs it doesnt respond ,the sound doesnt change unlike the dvd where he uses an external module and runs it thru the mixer and as he chnges resonance you hear it responding from whatever he was running thru the mixer?

like i was saying altought i guess the its showing audio signal coming in i cant hear any drastic changes even when i change cutooff or resonance, watching the video from his example you can hear althoughs things changing is there a difference since im not using the keyboard version ? or maybe some parameters i need to change??

I’ve never tried using the external in, but I know there’s a control that may have something to do with it: If you press ‘panel’ then scroll down to ‘Local Controls’ - make sure it is set to ‘yes’ - this might be what you need.

Make sure the external audio is on and then, make sure you turn on Voyager’s envelope gate. If you want the Voyager’s sounds to be off, you need to turn the osc. off at the mixer. You can mix the external with the Voyager’s sound by using the mixer section. That should get you up and running

thx for the reply ill give it a try ,so basically all i need from my external is the audio cord going into the voyager ,i dont need to use a midi cord? i want to filter some bass sounds from my triton

That’s all you need. MarkM is correct re: the settings - I ran my guitar through my external audio in and was able to filter it (and modulate with the EP- Cool!) using a default preset - definitely need to play around with this some more…
