Can’t get my head right when connecting a pedal. It always ends up controlling something that I didn’t intend.
I use a bass patch in my band where the resonance is reduced as the filter envelope closes the filter. So I can get a snappy sound but stil with a decent bass. I use the Mod2 buss for this, as I was recommended.
(Mod2 buss: Source- On, Dest-Pgm(filter res), Shaping-Filt Env.)
It works really well, but now I want to be able to use a pedal to controlthe filter decay. And here’s when everything gets mixed up. I always end up controlling the filter decay as well as something else. Maybe I should use the other Modbuss for the resonance reduction to be able to use a pedal without affecting that.
Can someone please help me with the settings (and not the least) the right input for the pedal?
I think that the Filter Decay only appears in the PGM Shaping 1 & 2. Maybe you can use the other Buss.
What is this other parameter that the Pedal controls? Maybe you could disable it.
Since you already have the CP-251 maybe you could use the Mult: Connect the output of the Pedal to the first input of the Mult. Then connect the 2nd ouput of the Mult to MOD1 and the 3rd output of the Mult to the MOD2.
For the 1st BUSS, choose as MOD1 as source, and Filter Decay as PGM Shaping (from within the Pot Mapping).
For the 2nd BUSS, as you already have it.
Buy or build yourself a modular system. That way you won’t get headaches trying to understand what controls what. You’ll just have to follow the patch cords…
Ok. Solved it. Got ModBuss1 to control Filter Resonance, that way I can use Pot Mapping with Mod1 (CV in) to Filter Decay. And I suppose ModBuss2 is left to do something else if source is not on On/Mod2. I just needen to read the manual.
