can someone please point me in the direction of a reliable person who can place an honest value on my mini moog. it would have to be someone who has no interest in the unit except for nostalgia purposes otherwise i don’t feel i’ll get an accurate value. eg a retailer who can profit from it. thanks for any help on this.
thanks for the responses everyone. yes it is an early model d witht the ra moog logo. one of the first 25 built. i checked the prepal site but i find the price too low. it had some modifications done by the original owner so it is quite a unique unit. i live in canada.

Well, Prepal is fairly accurate. Minimoogs have been declining since the Voyager came out. That’s a reaction to the forces of the market.
Your unit is one of the first 25; mine is one of the first 50. It’s going to be harder to find a buyer to meet the higher price of an early RAM Minimoog. If you place an ad, everybody else is going to refer to prepal and is going to find the asking price too high without taking into consideration the vintage value of an RA Moog badged mini.
Frankly if you’re going to be asking vintage value for the RAM mini, then you may have to go through a vintage dealer. They have contacts of collectors willing to pay extra for a unit like yours, and most collectors don’t/can’t take the time to scour the internet for deals.
There is another option. Peter Forrest of the VEMIA auctions, they are held once a year and a lot of collectable items can be found there. Collectors do pay the extra buck for vintage pieces there, and it seems to be immune to the abuses that have besieged ebay.
Unfortunatly Peter runs an auction . . and with that comes some crap.
Your best bet is to contact someone like Richard at rlmusic.co.uk as he can broker your minimoog for you and i know he has a long list of people looking for early minimoogs . . with yours being the the first 25 he would be very interested.
