Hi Moog kiddies. My name is Lee, and I’m new to the forum here. Sooooo stoked for my RME to get here tomorrow. I also bought the VX-351 and VX-352, and am looking forward to my first attempts at “modular” style synthesis. Should prove to be interesting. I feel like a teenager!
Anyhoo, I have a question concerning advice on a keyboard controller. I have a Novation X-Station, which I prefer using in the KS Synth mode (hardware synth). Will I have any success using the touch pad on the KS Synth for touch pad functions on the RME? I’m assuming the pitch and mod wheel stuff should be fine.
The Pitch and Mod Wheels on the X-Station should control the RME just as you expect. You’ll need to program the X-Station touch pad, however, to effect the desired MIDI Continuous Controller (CC) parameters on the RME. For example, programming the touch pad X-axis for MIDI CC#19 will allow you to tweak the RME’s Filter Cutoff as you move your finger left or right on the touch pad.
Consult the RME manual for all of the MIDI CC assignments.
YAY! Cool, I’ll try it out in just a few days and let you know how it goes. I haven’t got to mess with my RME too much yet, as some other stuff in my studio has decided to rain on my parade. DOH!
