Hey guys, my band Danger Friends USA! just released a new EP called Traditional Men. Its dirty, synth heavy punk rock. We use a Minimoog Voyager, Microkorg and Casiotone CT-310 distorted and reverby on this one. Its a lot of fun, check it out!
Thanks!
Well, that certainly is different…I like it! ![]()
Thanks!
You’re welcome! I’ve been meaning to try synth metal…but not sure how I could pull it off. It’s something I would love to do, but switching out a guitar with monosynths without sounding cheesy is very complicated for me. I guess I need to find a Casiotone and some effects pedals. ![]()
man, synth metal would be rad…I bet you could do it with monosynths, that would rule…I wonder if you could work in some vocoder too?! haha, man, I want to be in your band
Vocoder might work…Alice in Chains used talkboxes. I just need to program some killer lead patches. The Taurus III actually got me thinking about a synth band doing metal…or just me multitracking. ![]()
Nice EP Spacejunk ![]()
I come from rock (I still have a foot in it actually) and this sounds definitely punk man!
Voltor, want to hear what you’ll come up multitracking demos for your future band, eh? ![]()
Thanks man! Are you still in a band?
Just for the record I have never been in a band. I got into synthesis mostly because 5 hobbies weren’t enough to keep me busy.
Now I kinda want to start doing music for the sake of doing music, but not sure how many people in my area would want to do synth metal. That, and most of the time, I work weekends. ![]()
Yep. You can see my bands or projects in my signature.
Bands are:
- Western Sandcherry in the brit’n’psyche’n’rock’n’roll department
- Milkiss is more experimental, half-ambient-half-songs
- H-AND in a more rock’n’metal’n’indus vein. This one is standing by.
I encourage you to try anyway: get out and ask people or your friends / network, create the movement ![]()
