my Source is being weird.

yeah, when i turned it on the last couple times a lot of my presets were out of tune with themselves… so i figured it just needed to warm up for a few minutes (and that worked fine) they tuned themselves back up. but now it’s humming. (sounds like the 2 osc’s are just humming different notes) even when i turn the master volume down, it’s humming this terrible harmony of destruction. also when i tap the moog (anywhere really) i can hear the oscillators flutter in note. and i mean lightly tap, sometimes they flutter even when i’m just playing the keys. is this thing f-ed up or what?

:frowning:

Sounds like a problem with the power rails. I found a bad wire on a connector a couple of months ago on my Source.

I very much recommend that you leave the power off.
Sounds like either a bad connection on the power supply, bad cap or rectifier.
Either way, you’re hearing AC and unless there’s a unknown, newly formed ground loop in your studio, you may cause additional damage to the synth.

Thanks guys. I’m having it looked at soon. I DID notice that the fluttering tone/hum is worst when i touch the power supply input… it is sort of a loose.

let us know what the problem was and we’ll add it to our Source quirks database.
