My Ambient EP, made with the Animoog App - Distorted Heaven

Hey, I wanted to share with you an EP I recorded lately.

Before I’ll start talking about it I’ll introduce myself first:
My name is Amit Buium, I’m almost 15 years old and I’m from Israel. I’m playing guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, ukulele (yay), melodica and I want to learn how to play Accordion.I’m not an hardcore electronic music listener, but I think, probably so as you, that the world of synthesizers and electronic music is fascinating. I got into ambient through progressive rock and Bowie’s ‘Berling Trilogy’. The first actual ambient album I’ve ever listened to is Fripp and Eno’s (No Pussyfooting) and since then I really like this genre. Besides Fripp & Eno and David Bowie I listen to King Crimson (Hello Fripp), Genesis, Yes, Camel, Gentle Giant, The Clash, Muse, Radiohead, and more. My favorite band, though, is The Beatles - it was like this since a very young age and they will remain my favorite band for a very long time.

And now, for the thing I’m here for:

My recently recorded EP (although it’s about 40 minutes) is called Distorted Heaven and it’s a two-pieces record. It’s heavily influenced by Fripp and Eno, and it was recorded through the Animoog application for iPod touch. Each piece is like a side on a vinyl record and has a different mood - the first side is calmer, more pastoral and more consonant, as the other side, the second side, is noisier, a bit stressful and definitely more dissonant. The two pieces progress slowly, but gives a special mood to calm down and let you mind wander, like ambient music does usually. The two pieces is completely improvised, besides the synth tuning and the key. You can listen and download in my bandcamp page, and it’s free! If you’ll download it you’ll get a PDF booklet which contains a few details about the pieces and photos that are connected to the mood of the record. I hope you’ll listen to it in full, and I’ll be glad to recieve reviews and feedbacks.

Thanks for anyone who’ll listen to this record

I’m just listening to your album now. I like it so far. I can hear the `No Pussyfooting’ influence of course.

I’d recommend Fripp and Eno’s follow-up album `Evening Star,’ which is one of my favourite albums and will probably appeal to you - along with a lot of other Eno stuff. Also Steve Hillage’s Rainbow Dome Musick if you haven’t already heard that.

It’s a relief to hear some good, sensitive music on the Internet.

Hi Amit, welcome to the forum

I cannot listen to your music right now but will certainly soon. Thanks for sharing

Thanks, I really appreciate it. And I heard Evening Star, but not enough. I’ll return listening to it now, thanks:)

and stiiiiiiive (like that nickname) if you still can’t listen to it through bandcamp you can do it through youtube.

I’m really glad that you like it:)
