Pretty self explanitory… the multidrive knob on the Sub Phatty sounds awesome, can we expect to see it in a Moogerfooger format in the future so we can patch it into our XL’s, T3’s and the countless other Moogfooger applications out there?
Im no electronics engineer so i dont know about the practicality of this, how it works behind the scenes, whatever, but im assuming that the multidrive and the beat freq on the 2nd osc of the Sub Phatty is what gives it that distinctive sound? I know “you guys” have been pushing the CV aspect of synthesis, so it would be great to see this new colour added to our pallette.
Yup, band pass options and the like would be excellent…
EricK, i dont have a Moog unit with spacing on it yet.. “just” a T3, but would i be correct in assuming that if the spacing can be controlled by LFO, its just the “top” band that is modulated, the “reference” band stays static?
hmmmmmmmm I THINK that is a good explanation. Someone may correct me if I’m wrong.
Let’s say you have dual filters and one cutoff knob. They are normalized to the same cutoff frequency and turning the knob adjusts both. The spacing knob offsets one of the cutoff frequencies.
You can simulate this with two MF-101’s and an expression pedal that is multiplied and going to both units.
I would love a Moog filter that did this. Would love it more if it were a Moog module.
haha. I just came to post this same question, when I saw yours. Didn’t someone say they heard rumor of a new MF coming soon? -fingers crossed, gentlemen.
I’ve been maxing the drive on some Foogers to see what they have to offer in a sort of multi drive sense
it’s a bit the same thing I think, they said the multi drive was post filter which is basically like plugging the Moog into a distortion box
I think the Foogers have a lot to offer in that respect I really like the drive on them
This is a less effect more overdrive comparison I did between the Clusterflux, Midi delay, Ring mod , Filter, and Midi Murf
trying to see what they have to offer in and overdrive sense
Ooh I want to listen to that. Cannot right now, at work.
BTW, in the SonicState vid, Amos also says that the MultiDrive also overload the post filter OTA. using an overdrive pedal after the synth cannot reproduce that behavior.
