[MTR] Problems after 2.2.0 firmware update

So I just updated the firmware and it didn’t go well.

It didn’t give me any indication that is had actually finished updating, when the progress bar reached 100%, my mintaur’s LFO rate led started flashing really fast and there it stayed.

So I powered off the machine and back on, no sound.

After I did the “press all 4 buttons” trick the sound is back but the LFO rate is now stuck at max and the corresponding knob isn’t working :frowning:
I’ve tried to re-do the firmware update but it doesn’t work.
Help!

ok so I’ve managed to restore it to a previous version with the instructions here;
http://www.moogconnect.net/downloads/minitaur/Minitaur_Update_README.txt which has fixed the stuck LFO rate problem so I have a functioning device again.

I tried to update it again, same problem. :frowning: … so I’ve reset it back again, I’ll wait for a newer release as this one doesn’t work for me.

Strangely the firmware updater now thinks I have a newer version than 2.2.0RC11 … see attached.

Hi,

The wrong number is due to limitation in the way firmware version numbers are translated in this GUI. This is not supposed to happen to end users, installing release/official versions, only when installing beta firmware.

Did you follow the steps carefully ? It looks as if for some reasone the firmware is not completely loaded. You definitly are supposed to see an “Installation Successfull” message once completed.

Is the Minitaur directly connected to your PC or does it go through a hub ? it should really be directly connected.

  1. Enter bootloader mode: Press and hold VCO1 Wave and VCO2 Wave switches, and while keeping them both pushed plug the power cord into your Minitaur unit. Keep holding the two switches and press the Release switch, then release all switches. You should see the Glide switch LED blinking slowly, which indicates that your Minitaur is now in bootloader mode.
  2. Connect your Minitaur to your computer using a USB cable. Please connect it directly and not using any hub. If Windows starts an automatic driver search, let it install the default drivers.
  3. Run the updater and follow the instructions
  4. Once completed, run the Editor and check for the firmware version by clicking on “Settings”. Verify it says “2.2.0”.

Hi.
I have a wrong version issue in automatic updater too.

the Editor indicates that I have 2.1.14 firmware version
the Automatic Updater tells that it’s 2.2.4.

UPD: And it doesn’t update the Minitaur, which is connected directly to my Mac via usb cable.
it tells:
Erasing…
Installing new firmware…
then stops and tells: Something went wrong…

UPD2: I did Manual update and it seems that the firmware has been updated then.

This type of mismatch may only show up for beta testers, who’ve been using beta versions.

Thanks for the update.
