[MTR] Filter Drift

I seem to be getting a very slow oscillation of the filter on my Minitaur after updating to the latest beta firmware. The Minitaur is being driven via MIDI DIN from my Sub37 and plays in unison with the Sub37.

If I hold down a single key on the Sub37, the filter on the Minitaur begins a very slow drift down down, then back up. The oscillation takes about 30-45 seconds and seems to sweep virtually the entire range of the filter. I’m not intentionally sending any MIDI commands to the Minitaur that would cause this behavior. It happens if I have the Minitaur Editor open or closed. The filter oscillation does not seem to be tied directly to the key press, ie I can let up on the key and stop playing the note, then play the same key or anther key and the oscillation picks up in the cycle where it would have been without lifting the key. In other words, the cycle does not reset with a key press.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Will you be able to capture that on a video and send to my email ? I’m not quite sure I understand the scenario.

  • Does the preset include any filter modulation ?
  • Does it happen on a specific preset and could you send that syx as well with clear steps for reproduction ?
  • If you go back to previous firmware version, does it still happen, and from which version does it show ?

Thanks!

Gil,

Will do.

The preset I noticed it on was just the standard “Rezzo Bass” preset from the Sub37. I think it was also doing it on other presets, but I will verify.

Thanks,

Hi,

I wonder if you are still experiencing this using latest 3.2b4/2.1.10 ?

Thanks!

Hi Gil,

I installed the new Beta firmware and Editor. So far the filter drift issue seems to have been fixed  !

I’ll keep testing to see if it pops up. IIRC, sometimes the Minitaur had to be on for an hour or so before it began to drift, but so far so good.

Thanks,

Ben

Thanks Ben,
