Will Voyager RME owners be able to use the MP-201 Multi-Controller to control the RME via MIDI, or will a VX-352 still be necessary?
It doesn’t appear that a VX-352 will be necessary to use an MP-201 with an RME. Along with the ability to generate CV’s, the MP-201 can transmit the full compliment of MIDI CC information (0-127). Of course, this also means there’s always a chance of sending too much CC data (depends on how the MP-201 is programmed - if all four slots are programmed to send MIDI CC’s , there could be large bursts of data transmitted as the pedal is depressed. This might result in undesirable performance if the receiving MIDI instrument can’t handle a big data burst effectively. Without actually trying it, there’s no way to know what might happen).
