Hi everyone1 (and a Happy New year from rainy Scotland)
Been using Moogs since 1981 (Opus 3 poly) even to this day I use them in my recordings (1980’s stroky beard experimental stuff - actually could’nt play to save myself!) 1990’s (got a bit better!) 2000’s (wee bit better!)
and in betwee did pub/club cover gigs! but my heart was always in original material.
Still have the older Moogs (Mini D, Opus 3, Micro, Multi, Source, Memory Moog plus (stolen years ago! presumably still kicking around the Glasgow area!?) + 2 Voyagers. Now the Voyagers generally do the “dirty work” … I’ve sat them down next to the other older moogs and emulated their sounds (to great effect)
but sometimes they get an airing - and they just do what they do..very, very well!
I’ve had this constant argument that the Voyagers dont sound as good as the originals? rubbish! just take them as they are - a very capable synth, and as per usual you have to dive in, twiddle to get the best out of them, this never changes, now I’ve put some songs on myspace - unfortunately I had to sing!? (the wailings of an out of tune Scots guy!) but I do strive to get the tune across! The moogs do lead on Amazing, Mist on..
Blame the Wean, Italian Riviera + theres guitar as well! so hold onto your seats!http://www.myspace.com/596234900/music
