Hey. I use my Moogerfoogers with my Future Retro XS quite a lot, primarily because this allows me to a have tempo synced LFO via the XS. I generally run the XS into one of the attenuation channels and then into the 4 way mixer and then out into the Moogerfoogers. However sometimes, I run the XS LFO straight into the 4 way with no attenuation. The the FR XS LFO out put is +10 volts, but seems “hotter” if you will than anything put out by the MFs. Is there any danger with using this or other non-Moog modular equipment the the Moogerfoogers? Thanks.
The 'Foogers should NOT be used with the XS without attenuation, as the XS puts out twice the voltage that the Moogerfoogers are rated for. Unless you like your 'Foogers burnt crispy. ![]()
was concerned about that…but i must say that the Foogers have not been fried yet…though to be safe I will use VC from the FRXS only when attenuated. Thanks.

Theres no danger in using no Moog stuff with Moog Modular style equipment. But yeah, you definately don’t want to exceed -/+ 5V.
I would also be wondering just how you could be sure that you were staying in that range with attenuation unless you could monitor the output somehow, just to be on the safe side. I think theres nothing worse than a Dead Moog.

…if the audio cuts out I turn the knob down…at least that when tell myself I know I have exceeded it…again they have taken the full +/- 10 V from the XS…but I will certainly be more mindful in the future…
Ask amos about that because he uses the XS.

One could hardwire a voltmeter to a pair of cables. Could get messy if you don’t know what you’re doing, as one end of each cable would need removal. I’m taking a break from voiding my LP’s warranty, BTW. It’s hard work tracing those LED cables, and now I need to lengthen them. Whew!
