has anyone had experience using a moogerfooger as a vocoder? i was wondering if it would be posible, and which one would be the best choice
a vocoder is a complex machine which was originaly developed to transmit voice signals with a reduced bandwidth and with the additional feature to code the text and to decode it at the receiver side.
This machine allows also to produce strange vocal sounds which have a “machinery” appearance. With the current line up of the Foogers no real vocoder is available. However to achieve strange robotic voice sounds I would suggest to use the ring modulator (Moogerfooger MF 102).
And here is a link about the great vocoder hero Heinz Funk

I think a MURF could so some interesting things too.
I don’t know if it would work with these Moogerfoogers but I can get a Mod Talkboxish preset on my Little Phatty synth when I take the Osc 2 Source into Filter, with some Filter Envelope, so maybe Osc out of the Freqbox into Filter in of the Lowpass Filter, and move up the amount knob on the Lowpass filter… does anyone have experience with this? I don’t have the Lowpass Filter or Freqbox so It probably doesn’t work… (i will get those pedals soon!)
