If you happen to live in that part of North America where people eat da poutine at lunch time, you are no doubt familiar with Harmonium, an iconic folk-progressive band of the seventies.
With the blessing of Serge Fiori, the revival band of Harmonium has a tour in full swing. I guess I would be interested in talking about Harmonium’s music in general, but for this forum here, I’ll just post a pic of the band, on-stage, using amongst a number of vintage instruments, a Taurus bass pedal.

Too bad the picture here comes out so small, the uploaded original on photobucket is higher definition and you get a clear view of the Taurus. Maybe in this second pic.

I will have to look them up on YouTube. It looks like Rush merged with Jethro Tull and ELP…there’s no way they can be as awesome as that!
Edit-Couldn’t find a decent video.
They are awesome in their very own way. Lemme see what I can do, like rip a vinyl or something.
Edit: Vert - Harmonium , the song features a Rhodes piano, second half is more instrumental, nice bass line (not synth).
and here live in 1978 there’s a minimoog model D at 11:47
And to give you another idea of the progressive scene in Montréal in the 70’s, there’s always
Pollen - La femme ailee .1976 featuring Claude Lemay on keyboards and synths, who is now keyboardist and musical director for Céline Dion. Put E.L.P. , Jethro Tull and Gentle Giant in a bowl, stir well, and then you have Pollen. Moogasm’a’plenty
Awesome stuff! I love non-english speaking bands!
The Pollen album is totally amazing, from start to finish. I am glad you like, this ain’t your typical southern rock. Similarly, I love foreign language bands too. I enjoyed the Beatles for 20 some years before understanding a word they were singing. But that’s not entirely accurate, I had the ‘Oh yeah’ figured out right away.
I do have a craving for italian prog, and to this day, I truly don’t get much of the words, but who cares when listening to PFM, the music is so powerful.
