Moog Sub 37 Saving Arp Patterns

Hi there,

Just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas on saving an arpeggiator pattern that has been created on the Sub 37 when not connected to a DAW?

I have created two patterns recently that I liked, but lost them both due to user error and someone else walking in the room and playing the keys.

Ideally I would like to save the pattern with the preset, but I don’t think this is possible, nor is converting the pattern to a sequence. Ive posted this question on another forum, and someone mentioned simply recording the pattern to a daw, however once ive settled on an arp pattern, its usually latched and playing continuously. How would I record the notes without stopping the synth?

Any help would be appreciated?

Hey MagneticSun -

Here’s an idea: If you create an arp pattern that you like, and turn on the ON and LATCH buttons so that it plays continuously, you can save the patch to a new preset location and it will save the notes and arp pattern with it. I just tried it on my own Sub 37 to make sure.

So, yeah! Create an arp pattern that you like, turn on ON and LATCH, and save it as preset. When you recall it, it will automatically start playing back the same notes in the same order. This will give you flexibility to recall the patch when needed and record the notes to a DAW later.

Hope this helps,

M

Hey M,

Took me a while before I had a chance to try this out again, but alas no luck. In fact I had tried that idea earlier hoping it would work, but nope. I switch on Latch and ON and get my arp going, then save it to a new preset. Once I switch the Sub37 off and on again, that preset just shows up with the Latch and ON already set but no arp pattern is playing.

Are you saying that on yours, the arp will start playing even after a power reset?

Cheers,
MagneticSun
