Hi, I just bought a Rogue from a young metalhead ( who wanted nothing to do with it) for $100. I wanted to give him more but he wouldn’t take it.
I used to have a RadioShack Concertmate and don’t know how different they are from the MOOG. I think I’m having a problem. Oscillatr 1 is REALLY high pitched even with the octave switch on 32’ and Osc 2 doesn’t make any sound when I switch the OSC 1 switch to On or Contour. Is the synth broken or is it just calibrated/tuned incorrectly? Or is Osc 1 supposed to be ultra high pitched? I seem to remember getting intervals in the same octave on my concertmate.
If it’s broken who should I send it to for repair?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Check that Oscs 1&2 are not ‘synched’ together.
The Rogue differs from the MG-1 in that there is no “Bell tone” control, no useless “Polyphony” and there are pitch and mod wheels. It’s a far more expressive mono synth and worth persevering with. Check other posts in this forum to discover the truth about the “Black Gunge” which can plague the machine though!!

They aren’t synched together according to the switch that says On Off Contoured (above the switch) and SYNC OSC 2 to OSC 1. When I have the switch in the off position and OSC 2 slider turned up I hear tones in the 32’, 16’ and 8’ range (depending on octave switch) but in any other position OSC 2 is silent and OSC 1 is super high pitched. Out of the human hearing range on the 8’ octave toward the high end of the keyboard.
Is this a properly functioning Rogue ? I thought I should be able to have the 2 oscillators in the same octave range so I could do detuning and fiths etc.
I’d reall like to know so I can get it fixed if I have to. I suspect that it isn’t functioning properly, but I don’t know this machines limitations.
